Good Chaos
Eccentric and Immersive Plantscapes for Chicago Communities
The Good Chaos office in Chicago’s West Loop is a tribute to local artisans and makers. Nearly every component of the design from the tile, millwork, upholstery, serving ware, fine art and more was made by a local Chicago artist. Working closely with Siren Betty Design, Coach House was tasked with curating a collection of bespoke pottery from more than 20 local ceramic artists.
The overall mission was to create a feeling of fun, curated-plant-oddities; the use of kokedama, exotic orchids, flowering plants, and textured cacti. Allowing the employees and guests to tangibly interact with the plants, a plant-propagation wall features various plant cuttings found within the office.
A standout feature of the installation is a series of built-in planters that serve as striking end caps to employee workstations, blending function and artistry to enhance the workspace.
Coach House continues to provide ongoing plant care on a weekly basis.
